About Me
Hello! I am Sandy Kruse
I am a firm believer that life experiences bring you to where you should be. I left my very-corporate, 10-11 hour days, sales management job over 10 years ago to raise my children.
During this time at home, one of my children was diagnosed with a rare malignant tumor at the age of 5. Almost exactly one year later, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and I had a partial neck dissection as well as complete removal of my thyroid gland. Are these life experiences meant to take you somewhere? Of course I spent much time contemplating “why me, why our family”, but in the end, I realized the “why me” question was useless. My family’s health and wellness became my new passion. Yes, I am a firm believer that life experiences ARE meant to take you to the next level of your life.
“Pain pushes you until a greater vision pulls you” – Michael Beckwith
My greater vision all began with an interest in Feng Shui. I learned about Feng Shui and loved its principle teachings – energy flow. How does energy affect us? How do you create a space with good energy flow? There was so much that I became fascinated with.
I then built two websites to help others specific to the type of tumor my daughter had, and to my personal experience with thyroid cancer. I wanted to bring something positive to something negative – bring some positive energy to our negative experience. Many people still contact me through those websites. I wanted to help others, and I tried many avenues not only to help others, but to help me figure out my path and the reason for all of this. I volunteered with the Cancer Society, thinking this too might be my path.
I continued to have lingering health issues after my surgery so I started to research health options. I saw various doctors and realized that no medical doctor can help with this – this is when I turned to holistic means. I changed the way I ate, I dealt with adrenal problems holistically, I dealt with infections that wouldn’t heal, I dealt with such extremes as complete hyperactivity to complete exhaustion. This was primarily without the help of medical doctors and mostly all through holistic health.
I learned more about a balanced, lower-stress lifestyle, about gratitude, about spirituality that extends farther than my Catholic teachings as a child, and about food as medicine.
In addition to my degree in English, I completed my diploma in Holistic Nutrition. Going back to school to learn about such things as Anatomy and Chemistry wasn’t the easiest in your 40’s, but I believe this was an important step for me to be able to help others.
This is my path and this is where I’m meant to be. I still have my struggles with keeping weight off, which I never had to worry about before. My family is healthy, and I am healthy and this is what matters most.
This is how Sandy K Nutrition was born. And I hope to inspire others, and show you how a holistic lifestyle can provide for a fulfilling life in all areas of your life.
Blessings
xoxo Sandy
